Germantown senior community celebrates 10-year anniversary [photos]

Maple Village at Center in the Park senior-living community celebrated its 10th anniversary with a brief Thursday ceremony honoring the 11 residents who have lived at the property since it opened.

According to a press release from property developer and manager Pennrose, “Maple Village is comprised of 70 apartments for seniors who earn less than $26,580 as an individual or $30,360 as a pair.

“Residents can take advantage of the many community amenities, including a laundry facility and corner common room on each floor with a 96-seat dining area/community room, conference room, lending library, and covered patio with landscaped gardens.”

As part of the festivities, there were line-dancing demonstrations, a performance from the “Songsters,” giveaways and an exercise class.

“Although the amenities help foster an enjoyable and comfortable living environment,” Pennrose President Mark H. Dambly said, “the Maple Village staff and residents help make the property more than just a building, but a community.”

Correction: The Pennrose press release misstated the income thresholds for apartments. They are $34,260 for an individual and $39,120 for a couple.
