‘Gasland’ sequel asserts drillers corrupting government

Josh Fox galvanized the U.S. anti-fracking movement with his 2010 documentary “Gasland.” Now he’s back with a sequel — and this time, he’s targeting an audience of just one.

Fox says he wants President Barack Obama to watch “Gasland Part II,” then spend time with residents who appear in the film. Obama has expressed support for drilling and fracking for natural gas, but Fox calls that a misguided policy that ignores the environmental and public health toll of the drilling boom.

Fox is one of the nation’s most visible foes of natural gas drilling. He uses his new film to focus on how the gas industry influences politicians and regulators. Industry officials say Fox spreads lies and misinformation.
