Funeral for girl who fell from Ferris Wheel draws hundreds

More than 350 people came out this morning to remember Abiah Jones. Services were held today for the 11-year-old who died Friday after falling from the Morey’s Pier Ferris Wheel in Wildwood.

The Press of Atlantic City was at the service, where family members and classmates honored Jones’ memory with prayers and T-shirts celebrating her life.

Jones was with classmates from PleasanTech Academy Charter School when she fell 100 feet from the gondola. The students were there for the annual “Education Extravaganza” to recognize academic achievement.
