Funding for new Chestnut Hill meetinghouse project making progress

A new meetinghouse project in Chestnut Hill is making progress, after Chestnut Hill Friends Meeting announced the group had raised nearly 90 percent of the $3 million capital campaign for the new building.

Jana Shea of NewsWorks reports the building will feature a work of art inside, with the project design centered around a Skyspace by artist James Turrell.  Turrell is known internationally for this work.

The meetinghouse will be built at 20 East Mermaid Lane, with the project scheduled to break ground in March 2012.
