Funding brings new police officers to New Castle County

New Castle County, the largest in Delaware, will get six new police officers thanks to funding announced yesterday.

A $1.2 million federal grant will allow the county to add six officers over the next three years under the condition the county can retain those positions for at least an additional year, as WHYY/NewsWorks’ Bill Cook reported yesterday.

The grant is a piece of the $243 million awarded nationwide to 238 law enforcement agencies and municipalities.
