Frozen pancakes recalled for undeclared soy allergen

If you’re allergic to soy protein and recently picked up a box of frozen pancakes, this recall may be for you.

Pinnacle Foods Group LLC has recalled some lots of Aunt Jemima Frozen Pancakes that contain the undeclared allergen.

“The voluntary recall was initiated after the Company discovered there may have been a potential cross-contact with product that contained soy protein being produced on the same equipment,” the company’s release on the FDA website reads.

“There have been no reports of illness as a result of this incident.”

UPC codes starting with 19600 and ending with 05100, 05490, 05820, 05910, 05955 and 06040 are affected. They have “use by” dates between Nov. 1, 2011 and Oct. 16, 2012.

Just in case you need a commonsense reminder, don’t eat the pancakes if you’re allergic or sensitive to soy protein.
