Free backflow prevention valve installation offered in Cheltenham Township

In an attempt to help property owners who have experienced sewer surcharges during storms, Cheltenham Township is offering free installation of backflow prevention valves.

According to Montgomery Media, the valve prevents sewage from traveling backwards into a home by closing automatically against surcharge pressure. Valves that close due to surcharge pressure can impact the way anything in a home or business connected to a sanitary sewer line functions.

The Mongomery Media says any property owners interested in getting the free backflow prevention valave installation can call the Cheltenham Township Public Information Office at 215-887-6200, extension 230.
