Frankford pit bull mauls woman

By Shannon McDonald

A Frankford woman was mauled by a relative’s pit bull yesterday morning.

The woman, who’s name has not been released, was attacked by the animal around 4 a.m. in her home on the 4700-block of Worth Street. She sustained serious injuries to her arm when she tried to break up a fight between the pit bull and another dog. Animal Control was called to assist the woman. The dog belongs to her daughter, who was in the process of finding a new home for the pit bull after it bit a neighbor.

The woman was treated at Hahnemann Hospital. Further details about the dog have not been released.
