Exploring four centuries of home design in NW Philly

The Germantown Historical Society and the Mt. Airy Learning Tree hosted the second annual “At Home in the Old Germantown Township: Four Centuries of Home Design” tour in Northwest Philadelphia this weekend.

The self-guided tour gave visitors a chance to explore eight Germantown, Mt. Airy and Chestnut Hill homes built in the 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st centuries.

This year’s homes showcased an array of architectural concepts and designs.

Highlights of the tour included wood sculptured furniture and designs from Wharton Esherick.
