Former Montgomery County DA hurt in scuffle

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating allegations of an assault on former Montgomery County District Attorney Michael Marino.

Troopers arriving at Marino’s ranch in Collegeville on Sunday said witnesses reported an officer with the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources shoved Marino.
Investigators said the officer was performing a traffic stop in the ranch parking lot when Marino questioned what he was doing and an argument ensued.

The 70-year-old former district attorney and Montgomery County commissioner was treated at a hospital for a minor head injury. The park ranger was not identified because an investigation is ongoing.

Since leaving elected office in 2004, Marino has spent his time operating his Red Buffalo Ranch, which offers guided horseback trail rides in adjacent Evansburg State Park.
