N.W. Philly’s sylvan Main St.

Fairmount Park’s Forbidden Drive is a community meeting grounds for walkers, runners, bikers, horseback riders, dogs of all breeds, and some locals who swim at their own risk in the Wissahickon Creek.

Listen as Friends of the Wissahickon Executive Director Maura McCarthy takes you on an audio tour of the gravel path known to many as Northwest Philadelphia’s other Main Street.

Philadelphia’s Streets Department has closed a portion of the trail underneath the Walnut Lane Bridge until further notice as a result of crumbling concrete falling from the bridge.
