Food Bank gets $56,000 donation from WalMat

$56,000 donation to Food Bank of Delaware’s Backpack Program will provide food for needy children when school is not in session.
The donation from the Walmart Foundation helps the Food Bank put together backpacks that are stocked with food including granola bars, cereal and more. They’re given to students on the last day of school before a holiday or vacation. The donation will allow the Food Bank to more than double the backpack program from 50 sites distributing 28,501 backpacks per school year, to 80 sites providing 68,000 packs.
