A fisherman found a sneaker containing the remains of a foot Tuesday afternoon at Corson’s Inlet State Park in Ocean City.

The shoe is described as a black Adidas ADI Rise 2 high top sneaker, size 5 ½ for the right foot, with some of the toes containing colored nail polish, according to a New Jersey State Police release.

The gender and age of the individual are unknown, and the skeletal remains will be sent to a state anthropologist for examination and DNA testing, the release states.

New Jersey State Police asked the public for help on its Facebook page Wednesday.
