Montclair State political science professor Brigid Harrison says the candidates’ performance in the debate probably will not be a deciding factor for many voters.

Harrison: I’m not sure that we’re seeing a whole lot of detailed information that voters are looking for. I think that we’re at this point really getting a lot of regurgitation of the kind of issues that have been talked about in both debates will probably be what we’ll see in this third debate.

But Seton Hall political science professor Joe Marbach says the radio debate could make a difference.

Hall: In these last two weeks voters are going to really start to focus in and make up their minds. So this last debate could be a tipping point particularly if one of the candidates has a major screw up or a foul up in articulating their position.

Analysts say the debate is sure to generate media coverage that may influence some undecided voters.
