Police say a man is dead and another is in custody after a stabbing at Rodney Square in Wilmington.

The stabbing occurred near a bus stop at 10th and North King streets around 9:30 p.m. Monday. Officers called to the scene at downtown Wilmington’s Rodney Square found a man with stab wounds to his upper torso and police say paramedics took him to Christiana Hospital, where he died.

Police say people in the area directed officers to a man who was arrested after a brief foot chase.

Police say the investigation is in its preliminary stages, but they expect to file charges.
