Ex-Camden school official sues district
A former official in the Camden school district is suing the school board, claiming she was terminated for refusing to falsify the superintendent’s attendance record.
Former human resources director Monise Princilus claims she was suspended from her $120,000-a-year job last year and her contract was not renewed as a result.
Earlier this year, district records showed that Superintendent Bessie LeFra Young had been absent 186 days in the previous 18 months. She returned to work Feb. 1, after a leave. She said she had a chronic illness, but has declined to elaborate.
Princilus told the Inquirer that Young’s absences may have been underreported.
Young declined to comment because the matter is under litigation.
