Emergency crews respond to acid leak in West Chester Friday

    Employees at the Kidde Firefighting National Foam Division on East Union Street in West Chester had to evacuate after emergency crews report 50 gallons of sulfuric acid leaked from an overhead pipe Friday.

    Emergency response crews responded to the leak around 11:15 a.m. Friday, according to the Daily Local News.

    West Chester Assistant Fire Chief Dale McClure told the Daily Local News that all of the employees were safely evacuated from the building and there were no injuries.

    Crews remained at the plant until 3 p.m., according to the report.
