Ellen DeGeneres gives $100k to Chester Upland school

Chester Upland School District has friends in high places. Specifically, Sara Ferguson.

The teacher already attended the State of the Union address as a guest of First Lady Michelle Obama. Yesterday, she and Obama were on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” where the host gave Ferguson a special gift.

DeGeneres will give $100,000 through J.C. Penney to the financially struggling district’s Columbus Elementary School, where Ferguson teaches. Ferguson got a $5,000 personal gift card.
