Early morning police chase spans three Philadelphia regions

A suspected shooter led Philadelphia Police on a chase through West Philly, Center City and South Philadelphia, rammed three cop cars and sent himself to the hospital — all in a 13-year-old minivan and all before you woke up this morning.

Metro reports the chase began just before 4 a.m. when officers in West Philly heard gunshots, saw the victim and watched the alleged suspect hop into a Ford Windstar.

The chase led them through Center City across I-95 before the suspect crashed into three cop cars near the Walt Whitman Bridge.

So by the time you dragged yourself out of bed, a shooting suspect had been arrested, a shooting victim identified and the debris from the intentional police cruiser crash had been cleared. Makes you want to be a little more productive, doesn’t it?
