Early Census data show small population growth in Philadelphia

Mayor Michael Nutter will hold a press conference later this afternoon to detail the city’s Census data. But as Philadelphia Weekly points out, some of the basic information is already online.
We’re still the most populous city in the state, and we now have more than 1.5 million people. That’s .6 percent more than in 2000. This includes a portion of the homeless population, which was counted between a series of code blue calls this winter.
