Earlier curfew proposed for minors in Millville

Millville residents 17 and under may find themselves indoors an hour earlier each night if an amendment to the city’s curfew law introduced Tuesday passes. The current curfew for those 17 and under is now 10 p.m. The amendment, which is the result of recent vandalism and requests from neighbors, would push the curfew up an hour to 9 p.m., as reported in The News of Cumberland County.

While many residents don’t object to the 9 p.m. change, some have complained that the current curfew law is not enforced. Commissioner Dave Vanaman, director of Public Safety, said police have enforced the law.

The curfew would not apply to youth working or accompanied by parents.
