Eagles present Northern Children’s Services with $25,000 to revitalize Roxborough field

Northern Children’s Services, a multi-pronged family support facility in Roxborough, received a $25,000 grant from the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday to support its youth fitness program.

The check was presented during a ceremony on the nonprofit’s Ridge Avenue campus by United Way Senior Vice President Kevin Dow and Eagles President Don Smolenski. Three line markers were also donated for use as part of the revitalization of NCS’ Connell Field.

Smolenski said the gathering was about more than the donation and football field revitalization.

“It’s about a community coming together and working alongside one another to create a better future for youths and young adults,” he said.
