Drivers avoid toll roads in New Jersey since increase

    The New Jersey Turnpike authority says fewer drivers have been using the state’s two major highways in the first week of the new year.

    MyFoxPhilly reports that drivers have been using alternative routes since a 50 percent toll increase took effect in New Jersey.

    The increase comes as the second part of a 2008 approved project to improve and roads and bridges.
