Dissatisfied Daniel Boone student runs for school board

Seventeen-year-old Connor Kurtz, just a junior in high school, has been elected to the Daniel Boone Area School Board. Kurtz noticed the board making decisions that he didn’t agree with and soon found himself building a campaign that stresses fiscal responsibility, looking to find other options to generate revenue for the district, according to an article in the Mercury.

Kurtz received 239 Republican votes and 132 Democratic votes – most likely assuring his victory in Region 1 come November (just two months after he turns 18). Let’s just hope that board meetings don’t interfere with his homework.
