Dewey Beach director of finance to resign
The finance director of Dewey Beach has announced he is resigning, making him the second town leader to step down in less than a month.
The Daily Times of Salisbury reports Bill Brown will leave his post on Aug. 30. He has spent two years in the position.
Brown said in his resignation letter that there was “not a favorable environment” to carry out work responsibilities “because of interference from some officials with legislative responsibilities.” He said he did not agree with an agenda item regarding the audit for the 2012 fiscal year.
Brown is the second high-ranking town employee to leave in recent weeks. Bob Stickels resigned as town manager on July 25.
