Details emerging in West Mt. Airy “reverse drive-by” shooting

The details surrounding a Sunday night shooting in the West Mt. Airy section of the city still remain unclear.

At around 7:08 p.m., two men on foot opened fired on a car traveling southbound on the 6500 block of Berdan Street, according to officials with the Philadelphia Police Department.

Christine O’ Brien, a police spokesperson, said bullets struck the passenger side, trunk and rear window of the 2004 Audi before it crashed into a parked car on the unit (00-99) block of West Weaver Street.

“Then they jump out of the vehicle and they run,” said O’Brien of the car’s two occupants.
