Delmarva Chicken Festival expected to draw 20,000 visitors

The Delmarva Chicken Festival kicks off today, and is expected to draw 20,000 visitors. Of the human, variety, that is, because there are far more chickens in the state than there are people.

The 62nd-annual event is runs today and tomorrow and celebrates all things chicken. Let’s hope the chickens are OK with all this, because an uprising would be ugly. Sen. Tom Carper says there are 300 chickens for every Delawarean.
