Delaware unveils new prison communications system

State officials are unveiling a new radio system that improves communications within Delaware’s prison system.

A demonstration of the new 700 megahertz radio system is planned today at the state women’s prison in New Castle.

Officials say the new system supports communications both inside prison facilities and, for the first time, provides communications between facilities and directly with first responders.
