A New Castle woman was hit and killed while crossing Rt. 273 just before 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Now police have charged an 18-year-old driver in the crash.

54-year-old Lisa Bolden was hit by a car while crossing Rt. 273 near East Edinburgh Drive Saturday night. The driver of the car that hit her did not stop. Bolden was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say she was wearing dark colored clothing with no reflective material.

Based on debris left at the scene, police were able to locate a car suspected to be involved in the crash at a home in Rambleton Acres in New Castle. Inside the home, they identified 18-year-old Bradford Pollock as the driver of that car. Pollock was arrested on Christmas Day and taken to Wilmington’s Young Correctional Institution on $6,100.00 secured bail.

Pollock faces charges including leaving the scene of a collision resulting in death and driving without a valid license.
