Delaware Memorial Bridge joins Twitter to provide updates, advisories

New Jersey and Delaware drivers hiding their phones in their laps now have a new way to check traffic alerts for the Delaware Memorial Bridge.

The link between New Castle and Pennsville Township is now on Twitter.
Today’s Sunbeam reports Delaware River and Bay Authority staffers will maintain the feed in cooperation with toll workers and the DRBA police to send out traffic advisories, construction updates and other bridge-related information.

The Twitter feed shouldn’t be used for emergencies, though. Speaking of emergencies, the DRBA is still reminding drivers not to use their cell phones on the road, so you’ll have to pull over to check those tweets.
