Delaware County attorney recalls her close call with SEPTA train

On Monday morning, Delaware County attorney Pat Biswanger lay in the gravel at the Eddystone SEPTA station hoping the train wouldn’t hit her as it passed.

She’s fallen into the train’s path is began moving while she descended the car to the platform.

“I toppled like a tree and landed flat on my side on the SEPTA gravel between the platform and rails,” Biswanger tells the Delco Times in a video interview.
“I was looking at the wheels of the train and wondering how painful it would be when I got hit by something hanging off the bottom of the train.”

She escaped with just bruises and some flare-ups from an old spinal stroke. And though she says she wants SEPTA to provide some kind of refresher course to conductors about clearing the train before moving forward, Biswanger says she has no plans to sue.
