Delaware Catholics honor Bishop Saltarelli

    Catholics in Delaware continue to pay their respects to the Most Rev. Michael A. Saltarelli, Bishop Emeritus of the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington.

    Catholics in Delaware continue to pay their respects to the Most Rev. Michael A. Saltarelli, Bishop Emeritus of the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington.

    Saltarelli died last week at the age of 77.

    A Mass was held at St. Elizabeth Church in Wilmington on Tuesday. The Mass was primarily for Catholic School students of the diocese but was open to all.

    On Wednesday, Saltarelli’s body will lie in state at St. Elizabeth Church from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The Most Rev. W. Francis Malooly, Bishop of the Diocese of Wilmington, will preside at a concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 1 p.m.

    The Mass is open to the public although seating is limited.
