Delaware Avenue traffic study expected to have ‘modest’ impact on congestion
Improve traffic flow of all forms on Columbus Boulevard is a big undertaking.
So the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation wants to make sure everyone is aware the traffic study of the avenue and the changes it brings will likely make just a modest impact on congestion.
PlanPhilly reports the impending improvements are baby steps, but important ones. Major intersections are being reviewed to determine how to increase safety for drivers, bikers and pedestrians alike, while plans are underway to better time the traffic lights to keep cars moving but prevent speeding during off-peak hours.
Traffic changes could be in place by the end of the summer.
