D.C. the first in the nation to allow online gambling

Forget Parx, SugarHouse and Revel. Washington, D.C. is the first U.S. jurisdiction to allow Internet gambling. Now you can gamble in your pajamas. You know, without feeling guilty about it.

Congress’ 30-day window to reject the measure expired last week, the Associated Press reports, and D.C. officials are hoping the online revenue can offset cuts to other programs. An estimated $13 million in revenue is expected over the next four years.
