Crime fighting via text message: Atlant City Police considering web based application

Atlantic City Police are considering a new web based application that would allow investigators to receive tips through a text message.

The Press of Atlantic City reports the department recently was given a presentation by CitizenObserver, the developer of a program called “tip411.” The program allows communication between police and the public through a text message.

The Press of Atlantic City says no decision has been made and the actual cost of the program is not yet clear.
