Crime stories set in the Garden State in ‘New Jersey Noir’

    Part 5 of 5

New Jersey takes center stage in a collection of fiction released this year and edited by none other than Joyce Carol Oates.

“New Jersey Noir” is a compilation of crime stories set in the Garden State, featuring stories and poems from several writers. The book is part of a series of original noir anthologies from publisher Akashic Books that also includes stories from Brooklyn, Baltimore, Boston and even stories abroad in Barcelona and Dublin.

In our final interview for our Holiday Book Bag, Newsworks Tonight Host Dave Heller speaks with Lou Manfredo, whose story, set in Camden, appears in the book.  Manfredo uses his own background in law enforcement to inform his fiction.
