County Fair at the Oval brings a taste of the country to Center City [photos]

Pumpkins, free hay-rides, a ferris wheel and a cider and wine garden set the tone for a fall-themed county fair at Eakins Oval.

The setting seemed a little like a fair in the countryside, but one look at the Center City skyline reminded revelers where they actually were.

The three-day event was presented by Philadelphia Parks and Recreation and the Fairmount Park Conservancy. It offered family friendly entertainment, such as the FiddleKicks dancers, who demonstrated clogging ― American style.

A hay maze, face painting, a petting zoo and fresh-pressed apple cider were also on the bill.
