Country music star gives 6,000 books to Reading libraries

Reading Public Library card-holders have a wider reading selection now that a locally grown country music star has donated tens of thousands of dollars worth of books.

Wyomissing native Taylor Swift has given the library 6,000 books worth $68,000, which readers can begin to check out Saturday, the Reading Eagle reports. Each of the library’s branches will get an equal number of books, and then the titles will be available across Berks County libraries.

Swift’s donation was motive by the library’s struggle to stay open; books she donated will get a star on the spine and a sticker noting her gift inside the cover.
