Councilman Jones hosts seventh annual ‘Block Party Boot Camp’ [gallery]

Block captains from across Philadelphia’s fourth councilmanic district gathered in Overbrook on Saturday for the seventh-annual “Block Captain Boot Camp.”

Helmed by Fourth District Councilman Curtis Jones Jr.’s office, the event featured sessions including “Block Captains 101: Back To Basics” and “Safe Avenues For Our Students.”

The three-hour boot camp was help in conjunction with the 4th District Day Festival which featured on-stage entertainment, informational tables, community health screenings and, among other things, “ready to work” tents featuring resume help, job-search tips and wardrobe assistance.
