Corsons Inlet Bridge will close Monday for rail repairs

Work to replace the railings on the Corsons Inlet Bridge will take about six months, but the bridge will close for 12 hours Monday so the contractor can install concrete barriers to protect the workers.

You’ll have to find another way to get between Strathmere and Ocean City from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Plans for the $2.3 million project got underway in February after two teenagers plunged into the bay when their SUV crashed through the unstable rails of the bridge.

The contracting bid was approved in April, and work is expected to be complete by May 2012.
