Corbett’s higher education advisory panel seeking public input

Pa. Gov. Tom Corbett’s Advisory Commission on Postsecondary Education is meeting in Harrisburg on Thursday to seek public opinion on higher ed in the state. It is the first of five such meetings in regions around the state, with further gatherings planned for Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Wilkes-Barre and Mercer County.

Thursday’s meeting will run from 2 p.m. through 4:30 p.m. at the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, 417 Walnut St.

The 31-member commission, comprising leaders in education and business, was formed earlier this year to develop a long-term vision for postsecondary education in Pennsylvania by November.
