5th district hosts annual Christmas party for kids

Philadelphia’s 5th police district held its 42nd annual Christmas party in Roxborough yesterday.  More than 70 students from Shawmont Elementary were invited to the event this year at district headquarters on Ridge Ave.  Also in attendance were Green Bean the clown, a mummers quartet and the big man himself, riding up to the station in a rosy, red fire truck.  Thanks to donations from local businesses and residents, the district was able to spread some holiday spirit by handing out gifts to each student.  A lucky few were chosen to receive bicycles.  Watch as the excitement unfolds in this video.
