Construction starts next month at Franklin underground museum
Ground was broken today and construction will begin next month at Philadelphia’s underground tribute to Ben Franklin.
The Old City museum closed in June for a much-needed 18-month renovation project that will update the museum but leave the framework outlining Franklin’s former home intact.
KYW details some of the things visitors can expect when the museum reopens in 2013: exhibits devoted to Franklins’ interests in lightning and diplomacy, among other things, plus interactive features and artifacts.
Public and private funds will cover the bill.
