Construction scam targets elderly in Pennsville Township

Police in Pennsville Township, N.J., are encouraging awareness of a scam targeting elderly residents. With the warm weather rushing in, the deceptive “Town and Country Paving” is likely to return.

The group has been in the area before, soliciting elderly residents for work, charging high fees and doing sub-par work, Today’s Sunbeam reports. As the workers gain residents’ trust, they enter the homes and steal valuables.

It’s been awhile since the group was spotted, but the scammers have been seen driving a white pick-up truck with Florida tags and a newer bright red Dodge pickup with a temporary tag in its rear window.
