Numerous Comcast customers throughout the Jersey Shore have been dealing with internet and cable service outages since this morning.

According to company spokesman Jeff Alexander, the problem is linked to a software issue, which is impacting the network feeds to some customers in central and northern Shore areas.

“Our engineers proactively detected the problem and have been working aggressively to resolve it since that time,” he said. “We appreciate our customers’ patience as we remedy the interruption and apologize for any inconvenience.”

Alexander said he did not have a total outage number available.
