Collingdale has Pennsylvania’s longest continuously serving mayor

Frank Kelly was elected mayor of Collingdale, Delaware County, in 1970 and he’s been there ever since.

The 77-year-old has a wife, seven kids, 17 grandkids and 12 great-grandkids. He also has about 8,700 constituents in his borough.

As you would expect, Kelly’s seen a lot in his 42 years as mayor. The Delaware County Times has a profile of Kelly, starting with his graduation from Collingdale High School and leading right up to the state resolution honoring his service.

Kelly hasn’t decided yet if he’ll run for re-election when his term expire in December 2013.
