Coast Guard hopes to sell two Jersey Shore lighthouses

Looking to open a bed and breakfast? Start a party house? Build a helipad? Your imagination can pretty much run wild when you’re bidding on a lighthouse, and the U.S. Coast Guard has two of them up for grabs.

Lighthouses in Sandy Hook Bay and Raritan Bay are for sale, giving new meaning to the term ‘Shore house.’

Should you be the winning bidder, there are a couple stipulations: both lighthouses need some serious TLC, and the Coast Guard retains the right to access them even after they’re sold.
