City to open five free computer centers today
Philadelphia will mark the opening of five free computer centers today in what it plans to one day be a group of 77.
Fifteen have already opened, and today, centers in West Philly, Logan, Center City and South Philly will cut their ribbons. The centers are part of the Freedom Rings Partnership to provide the public with free use, Internet access and training.
Several organizations and businesses have partnered with the city to open the centers, which are funded through federal stimulus money. The centers will be open primarily during business and after-school hours.
