City, agencies on the same page at ACCT prepares to take over Philly’s animal control

The Animal Care & Control Team will assume animal control services in Philadelphia April 1, taking over that duty for the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and seemingly putting to rest a decade’s worth of mess.
Philadelphia Weekly has a feature story today on ACCT, the PSPCA and the Philadelphia Animal Care and Control Association, which used to handle the city’s animal control until a 2004 news story revealed corruption.

Leadership changes, new partnerships and an agreement with the city have changed the course of things over the last few years — possibly and hopefully for the better.
