Christie sworn in to second term as N.J. governor

In ceremonies Tuesday at the Trenton War Memorial, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie took his oath of office for a second term.
Unlike his State of the State address, the governor did not mention the George Washington Bridge scandal. He also made no reference to allegations of abuse of power made by Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer.
Instead, he focused on bipartisanship.
“You see, the people of this state know that the only way forward is if we all willing to take on what is politically unpopular, if we are willing to share in the sacrifice, if we are all willing to be in this together,” Christie said.
He vowed to continue efforts to grow the state’s economy, give every child the chance to have a good education, and provide drug treatment instead of imprisonment for more nonviolent offenders.
While not specifically calling for a tax cut, he said New Jersey could be different than it’s neighbors by putting more money in the pockets of the middle class.
Organizers canceled Christie’s planned inaugural party at Ellis Island because of the winter storm expected to dump up to a foot of snow on the region.
